The 160GS came out in January 1962 to continue the market success of the 150GS, with a completely new design. The exhaust silencer, carburetor and suspension were also new. The power output was 8.2 bhp at 6,500 rpm. A spare wheel was now a standard feature on the 160GS, it was located inside the left side panel. The second production series (1963) had the same characteristics but the glove box was relocated from the rear end of the scooter to the inside of the legshield.
